How to Clean Rust From Tin

    • 1). Rinse off the tin part in a sink using water. Make sure the piece is clean before moving on to the next step.

    • 2). Put on the rubber gloves and pour the calcium, lime and rust remover liquid into the plastic bowl. You want enough to submerge the part, but don't overdo it.

    • 3). Submerge the part in the liquid and let it sit for 2 to 5 minutes.

    • 4). Pull out the part and clean it off using a red scuffing pad. This should remove any excess rust.

    • 5). Repeat steps 3 and 4 if the rust persists. Lengthen the time the object is submerged.
